Material Performance Profile

5 kg Performance PETg Filament – Bulk Spool for 3D Print Farms

Matter3D PETG delivers reliable performance for functional, dimensionally stable parts. Using premium US-made resin as the base, our PETG family includes premium Matte and Carbon-Fiber variants designed for improved stiffness, surface quality, and heat resistance. Fully compounded and extruded in-house for consistent printability and mechanical performance.

Key Features

  • Matter3D PETG is engineered for users who need dependable mechanical performance, excellent layer adhesion, and a wide process window. Built on premium US-made PETg resin and compounded in our Victoria manufacturing facility, our PETG line covers everything from high-clarity neat PETG to premium Matte and Carbon-Fiber grades.

PETG offers higher toughness and better temperature stability than PLA while remaining easy to print and highly reliable for larger functional parts. Our formulations are tuned for smooth extrusion, consistent viscosity, and polished print surfaces across all open-material printers.

Matter3D PETG offers excellent chemical resistance to a wide range of substances, including diluted acids, bases, salts, and alcohols. This makes it a strong choice for components exposed to cleaners, coolants, and everyday industrial environments. PETG maintains its toughness and dimensional stability when in contact with most household and workshop chemicals, outperforming PLA in real-world durability.

Recommended Applications

Typical Applications For Matter3D PETg

  • Functional prototypes
  • Mechanical components
  • Jigs, fixtures, and manufacturing aids
  • Outdoor enclosures and housings
  • Automotive brackets and mounts
  • RC and robotics components
  • Larger-format prints requiring stability
  • CF grades: high-stiffness parts, structural brackets, precision components
  • Matte PETG: aesthetic housings, decorative parts, and applications requiring low-gloss finish

Print Settings

General Print Settings for Matter3D PETg

  • Nozzle Temperature: 235–260 °C
  • Bed Temperature: 75–90 °C
  • Cooling: 30–50% (lower for stronger parts, higher for cleaner surfaces)
  • Drying: 65 °C for 4–6 hours when exposed to moisture
  • Print Speed: 50–100 mm/s (CF grades preferred 40–70 mm/s)
  • Retraction: 0.6–1.2 mm @ 25–40 mm/s

Notes:

  • PETG adheres strongly to build plates—use glue stick or smooth PEI to avoid damage.
  • CF PETG requires hardened nozzles.
  • Matte PETG prefers slightly lower cooling to maintain surface finish.

Technical Specifications

  • Tensile Strength: 50-60 MPa
  • Impact Strength: 8 J/m
  • Heat Deflection Temp (HDT): 75 °C

Quality & Manufacturing

Every spool of Matter3D PETG is compounded and extruded in-house using premium Eastman Eastar™ 6763 resin and tightly controlled additive systems.

Our team filters every melt, dries each batch to specification, and monitors diameter with dual-axis laser measurement. Carbon-fibre grades are compounded on our twin-screw line for perfect fibre distribution, while Matte PETG is processed with precision-ground talc for consistent texture.

Each lot is tested for tensile strength, stiffness, impact performance, moisture content, and printability before release. This ensures you receive PETG that prints smoothly, performs predictably, and holds up under real-world use.

FAQ

PETg Family - Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What makes Matter3D PETG different from other PETG?

A: We start with Premium US-made resin and compound everything in-house for consistency, better mechanicals, and cleaner finish quality. No fillers unless intentionally added (matting agent, carbon fiber).

Q: Is PETG stronger than PLA?

A: Yes—PETG offers higher toughness and better temperature resistance, making it more suitable for functional parts.

Q: Why choose Matte PETG or CF PETG?

A: Matte PETG prints with a premium low-gloss finish that hides layer lines. CF PETG provides significant stiffness and improved heat resistance.

Q: Is PETG good for enclosed printers?

A: Yes. PETG prints well in both open and enclosed machines and is less warp-prone than ABS or Nylon. Quick tip - you want minimal part cooling when you print.

Q: Do I need to dry PETG?

A: If left exposed, yes. Dry at 65 °C for 4–6 hours for best layer adhesion and reduced stringing.

Q: What nozzles work with CF PETG?

A: Hardened steel, tungsten carbide, or ruby nozzles are recommended for any carbon-fiber‐filled grade.

Q: What does 'Bambu AMS Compatible' mean

A: This simply means that the plastic spools we use for our products are compatible with Bambu's AMS system. They are literally 'plug-n-play'.
