Performance ABS - Carbon Fiber
Matter3D’s Performance ABS is a high impact, high temperature, and FDA approved (food and beverage use) material. Performance ABS Carbon Fiber is made using this same high-flow ABS and premium high-modulus carbon fiber. This material offers ease of printing, high strength/stiffness, excellent dimensional stability, and an aesthetic surface finish. The addition of 15% carbon fiber allows for low-warpage during printing; facilitating ease of use across a multitude of printers/brands.
The material also has low off-gassing of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). It is ideal for end-use parts or other applications where high-strength and high-heat properties are desired.
Matter3D’s Performance ABS is optimized to enable 3D printing of small parts without necessarily having a print enclosure. The low warpage characteristics of our Performance ABS make it an ideal candidate for large, technical fabrication jobs. The low number of VOCs produced during printing emit almost no odor; however, appropriate ventilation is still recommended. Matter3D’s Performance ABS is compatible with our Recycled HIPs filament and limonene solvent for soluble supports.
ABS is moisture sensitive. Therefore, our recommendation is to dry the material for 3 - 4 hours at <80 °C. This practice ensures bubble free, high-strength prints.
Matter3D’s Performance ABS is precision extruded and immediately vacuum-sealed before shipping with desiccant for protection against moisture. This product is available in 1 kg spools (2.2 lbs) and can also be ordered on a 1kg Master Spool. Matter3D always recommends drying your filaments before use.
This filament is possible to print with practically all desktop 3D printers, such as Makerbot, Prusa, Ender, Flashforge, Anet, Creality, Lulzbot, Makergear, Ultimaker, or any other printer accepting 1.75 mm or 2.85 mm filament.
